Emocore band The Used formed in 2000 with members Bert McCracken (vocals), Quinn
Allman (guitar), Jeph Howard (bass) and Branden Steineckert (drums). After
sending out countless demos, John Feldman of the band Goldfinger expressed an
interest in the band and produced a demo EP that led to The Used signing with
Warner/Reprise. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2002, and included
"The Taste Of Ink" which hit #19 on the Modern Rock charts. McCracken also
appeared the Osbournes MTV show during his time as Kelly Osbourne's boyfriend.
Their second album, 2003's Maybe Memories, included two more Modern Rock hits,
"Buried Myself Alive" (#13) and "Blue and Yellow" (#23).
